Bookkeeping built for Hawaii, not adapted to it.

We are a Hawaii-first bookkeeping and compliance service that pairs automation with real bookkeepers — so island businesses get current books and on-time GET filings without the mainland-tool headaches.

Why we exist

Most Hawaii small businesses run their books once a year, in a tax-season panic, on tools that were never designed for the General Excise Tax. GET is not sales tax, the Oahu surcharge is easy to get wrong, and a lapsed DCCA or PVL license can stop a job cold. National bookkeeping apps simply do not model any of this. We built books.money to close that gap for local businesses.

How it works

Software does the volume — pulling transactions from your connected bank, card, Square, and Stripe accounts, categorizing them, and matching them to your statements. A real bookkeeper reviews the judgment calls before each month closes. The same system that keeps your books current computes your GET, prepares Form G-45, and tracks your license renewals. You approve; we handle the rest.

What we believe

Local-first. Hawaii businesses deserve tooling that speaks GET, G-45, DCCA, and PVL natively — not a mainland product with the state bolted on. Honest and simple. Flat monthly pricing, no long-term contract, and a first month free during our pilot. Human where it counts. Automation handles the repetitive work; people handle the judgment, so nothing important is left to a generic algorithm.

Where we are

We are based in Honolulu and onboard Hawaii businesses in small batches so setup stays hands-on. We are not affiliated with any national SaaS. If you want to talk to a person, call (808) 400-8253 or email hello@books.money.

Let books.money handle your GET.
